Gupta for maximum vigil to meet challenges ahead in J&K

JAMMU, Apr 2: Former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has emphasized for maximum vigil and tuning up the administration to meet the challenges ahead in J&K.
Commenting upon the increased activities of the elements hostile to peace along the Line of Control (LoC) and the border coupled with unrest within the State on different accounts, Prof Gupta said the hostile neighbor was never for peace and tranquility but for some time past is showing the signs of some bigger trouble.
“The recent infiltration of heavily armed Fidayeens in Sunderbani area and earlier an attack of the terrorists on a camp of the forces at Sunjwan in outskirts of the Capital city of Jammu indicate more to the designs than meets the eyes evidently to spread and escalate the problems”, he stated.
He added that as far as the troubled Valley is concerned the enemy has done great harm to various aspects of life, both in terms of blood and economy, the agents of destruction are still active to carry forward their trade to damage the tourist season as also to add to the sufferings of the common man. But it is good that the police and other forces have launched the operation “all out”. All this needed the greater cooperation of all including the local administration and of those in public life who aspire peace and welfare of the common masses, he added.
Prof Gupta said that problems of the people should be addressed though it is a difficult task, especially in a democracy when the election are nearing and various parties and groups are making their presence felt and put ruling parties in a quandary.
