Gupta inaugurates Shanti Vatika

JAMMU, Mar 29: Former Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta today inaugurated a newly constructed Green Park named as “Shanti Vatika” at Jogi Gate Cremation Ground , Jammu. The park has been developed and decorated in memory of Late Smt. Shanti Devi, the mother of Prof. Gupta.
The land for the park has been donated by J&K Sewa Samiti. The construction work of park has been taken in such a way to make it one of the best master piece in Jammu. Besides Marble flooring and pathway, the park has ornamental trees, flower beds, proper grassing, benches and adequate lighting system. In addition a specially designed fountain imported from Jaipur, Rajasthan has also been installed in the park. Sufficient plantation has been carried out to make it a green patch.
While speaking on the occasion Prof. Gupta said that the park shall serve as solace to visitors who reach here in grief and shall also be a tribute to departed souls. Cremation grounds and such like places need special attention of society to keep them maintained , sanitized and decorated in order to make the last journey of departed souls heavenly.
On the occasion Surinder Saharan, president J&K Sewa Samiti, lauded the efforts of Prof. Gupta and appealed the people to follow the line and come forward to extend their helping hand for community developmental works.
The inauguration of park was witnessed by prominent citizens and large number of people from different walks.
