Gupta assails PDP-BJP Govt for betraying people

JAMMU, June 9: National Conference (NC) State secretary, Rattan Lal Gupta, today took PDP-BJP Government head on for its failure on deliverance front, saying development has come to grinding halt and sufferings of the people are swelling with each passing day.
In a statement, Gupta particularly referred to erratic power supply and acute drinking water scarcity across the entire Jammu region and said depriving people of basics during the ongoing summer months speaks of insensitivity of the Government, which has abdicated its responsibilities since.
He said during the past nearly four years of PDP-BJP Government in two spells development and implementation of various welfare schemes remained a far cry due to their naivety and inexperience. He said both the coalition partners are working at cross purposes as a result of which the people remained at the receiving end.
Gupta said the people of the State have realized futility of reposing their trust to the coalition which delivered nothing except failures. The situation on development front in particular is alarming in remote and far-off areas while resentment is brewing among educated unemployed, as the Government has failed in creating opportunities for them. He said the daily wagers have been forced to take to streets for seeking regularization and SSA teachers are without salaries for the past four months.
He sought regulated supply of power and drinking water besides releasing salaries of the SSA teachers, conceding to the demands of the Anganwari workers and keeping commitment with the daily rated workers and adhoc employees.
