The speakers stated that presently there is a 6% reservation for Gujjars/Bakerwals in admission in Government professional colleges of J&K (as against 14.9% population of ST-Gujjars-Bakrwals – in the State as per census 2011), 5% in University of Jammu (as against 21% population in the province and the Gujjars-Bakrwals share the 5% seats with Gaddis, Sippis and Baltis) and 3% in Kashmir University (as against 19% population in the region).
