VYARA (GUJARAT), Oct 7: Union Minister and BJP Election Co-Incharge of Gujarat, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that Gujarat has always shown the way to the rest of India and will continue to do so in future as well.
Addressing a series of Assembly segment-wise and Mandal-wise meetings of BJP office-bearers and Karyakartas in the South Gujarat districts of Tapi and Dang  today, Dr Jitendra Singh recalled that even in the pre-independence era, Gujarat gave to India eminent leaders of freedom struggle including Mahatma Gandhi. After independence, he said, the first non-Congress Prime Minister of India, Morarji Desai hailed from Gujarat and later the most popular-ever Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is also from Gujarat.
Dr Jitendra Singh observed that in the last few years, Gujarat has emerged not only as a role model of governance, but also as a role model of political culture and political maturity. For this reason, he said, the entire nation and even the rest of the States of India keenly watch every development in Gujarat, including the conduct and outcome of the State Assembly elections.
Reiterating the BJP National President Amit Shah’s call for enhancing at least 10% vote turnout at each polling booth, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the booth-level workers and “Vistariks” are fully geared-up and committed to this cause. He said, not only will the forthcoming Assembly poll in Gujarat set new records of victory for BJP, both in terms of number of seats as well as the vote percentage, this will also be a distinct example for the BJP units in other States.
Much of the revolutionary development in the State, Dr Jitendra Singh observed, was accomplished after Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister even though there was absolutely no cooperation from the UPA Government at the Center. But now, with favorable governments both at the Center as well as in the State, Gujarat is set to achieve new records of development in the years to come.
