Guest lecture organized in Tawi Engineering College

JAMMU, Nov 13: An expert lecture on “Mix Design of Concrete” was organized by Civil Department of Tawi Engineering College, Shahpurkandi, Pathankot.  The Expert on the topic was Dr Jagbir Singh, (Ph D Civil Engg), who has been working as Professor in Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana from past ten years.
Dr Jagbir is also working as Consultant for Industry and various Government organizations as expert for concrete mix design. He has created mix design for high strength concrete, for various projects for industrial construction at Ludhiana. He discussed about the various components of concrete and also discussed about how the high strength of concrete can be achieved by changing the quantity of various components.  Dr Jagbir discussed about usage of super plasticizers and their effect on strength of concrete.
Methods practiced for Mix designing of concrete in the industry were also discussed. A lot of queries by the students were answered by Dr Jagbir at the end of lecture during question- answer session.
The expert talk was presided over by Col Hari Singh (AO of Tawi Engineering College) while Dr Lakhwinder Pal Singh (Director Tawi Engineering College). Civil Engineering faculty, Er Chetan Saini, Er Rizwan Gani, Er Durgesh Prashad, Er Rohini Gupta and Er Anuj Tidyal, Convener of Tawi Media committee were present in lecture, which concluded with the vote of thanks by Er Akshat Mahajan (Coordinator of Civil Engineering of Tawi Engineering College).
