Guar gum futures succumb to profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Aug 8:  Guar gum prices were down by Rs 82 to Rs 7,997 per quintal in futures trading today after participants locked-in gains at existing levels, taking weak cues from the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum for delivery in far-month November contracts slipped by Rs 82 or 1.01 per cent to Rs 7,997 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,395 lots.
Guargum, for most-traded, delivery in October contracts also dropped by Rs 32 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 7,880 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 43,800 lots.
Market players said emergence of profit-booking by participants at prevailing higher levels, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets due to low demand, mainly marked downward trend in guar gum prices in futures trade here. (PTI)
