Guar gum futures slip on weak export demand

NEW DELHI, June 4: Guar gum prices came down by Rs 117 to Rs 7,545 per quintal in futures trade today on off-loading of holdings by speculators amid weak cues from the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for delivery in June dived by Rs 117 or 1.53 per cent to Rs 7,545 per quintal, in an open interest of 22,400 lots.
In a similar fashion, the most-traded delivery in July fell by Rs 117 or 1.51 per cent to Rs 7,641 per quintal, with the business turnover of 42,410 open lots.
Marketmen said the fall in guar gum prices at futures market was attributed to trimming of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at the physical markets owing to muted export demand amid mounting stocks. (PTI)
