GST marks economic integration of J&K with India: Pathania

Excelsior Correspondent
RAMNAGAR, July 10: While addressing party rank and file during ” Karyakarta Sammelan” at Town Hall here today, Ranbir Singh Pathania MLA Ramnagar said that passage of GST Bill by State Legislature and its consequential implementation in the State is a large leap towards economic integration of the State with Indian Union. The passage and implementation of this historic legislation will pave for the economic integration of the State with whole country from Ladakh to Kanyakumari brought under “One-Nation One-Tax” regime resulting in self independence and self reliance of the State, widening of revenue receipts and putting an end to the practice of hoarding, and black marketing.
Pathania lauded the senior coalition partner, PDP, and the civil society of J & K for their visionary support to the trailblazing tax reform regime in the State.
He was all praise for the national leadership of BJP who have clung to the ground  tenaciously and ensured that J&K doesn’t miss the “economic-bandwagon”. He said that pragmatic overture of the Government has silenced the voices of negativity and opportunism unleashed by the political opponents and fence sitters who were crying hoarse over loosing financial autonomy of the State.
In case the State had missed to be a part of this historic economy reform it would have led to a “financial fiasco” and ultimately price rise, inflation, corrupt trade practices, slow down in growth rate of State by 1.5 to 2.0% annually calculated revenue loss of about Rs 10000 to 25000 crore annually.
Today we have a slip-shod RTI law, lackluster Panchayati Raj system, nil protection to forest dwellers who in rest of the country are protected by Forests Dwellers Act, outmoded and ineffective Land Acquisition laws….On and on, the entire countdown is a weary exercise. It is due to the fact that in the past, non-sense and negativity had prevailed on sense and pragmatism. Chest thumping of special status and autonomy have blocked the way of public friendly legislations to come over to J & K. This time negativity gave way to innovation. It was due to the far sighted vision of powers that be, and that is why, J & K is also part and parcel of the national GST bandwagon, he added.
He said that it is an accepted Constitutional position that no Central Constitutional amendment can be implemented in the State without issuance of Presidential Order and concurrence of the State Government.
He said that people of Jammu are mature enough to see through their gimmickry of these political fence sitters who opposed the historic law with a view to subjugate J & K on economic and political fronts.
Other, who were present on the occasion were Rajinder Sharma, Raghvir Sharma, party office bearers and prominent citizens of the town.
