GREF Public School Rajouri celebrates Annual Day

RAJOURI, Feb 25: GREF Public School, Rajouri celebrated its annual day celebration on February 25, 2017 with pomp and splendour, here today.
The theme of the annual day was in accordance with the need of the day ‘Unity in Diversity’. The school was privileged by the presence of the Chairman, GREF Public School, Col UN Singh, Commander 31 BRTF and Poonam Singh, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The programme was ushered in by the rendition of the Saraswati Vandana by the school faculty and students which was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. The school annual report was read by the Principal, Smita Ojha which traced the long strides and significant progress made during the last year by GPS.
The cultural extravaganza presented by the school students enthralled the audience.
The initiation was with a thought provoking number refreshing the memory of Peshawar incident and making everyone realize that enemies of mankind have to be won over by making them educated.
GPS’s students presented folk dances of Assam and Punjab reflecting the essence of India as a melting pot of various cultures through harmonious blends of music, rhythm and dance.
The melodious performances enthralled the audience by their flair and confidence. Two skits showcased in English and Hindi stole the hearts of everyone. The skits underlined the message of “Save the Girl Child” and “Save Our Trees”.
The programme concluded with a soulful rendition of Allama Iqbal’s “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua” by the little children.
The Chairman of the school, Col UN Singh, in the end, eloquently addressed the gathering with his views on defining one’s goal in life.
The day ended with prize distribution to meritorious students by the chief guest.
