Grand finale of Phase-1 of Jagruk Hindustani Premier Volleyball League held

SAMBA, Apr 25: The final match of Phase-1 of Jagruk Hindustani Premier Volleyball League was held here today.
Jatwal emerged as the champion of Samba region.
A total of 8 teams had participated in the competition from the Samba region. Samba and Jatwal locked horns in the final wherein Jatwal beat Samba in a 3-setter.
Sunil Singh Charak playing for Jatwal turned out to be the star performer and was instrumental in Jatwal being crowned as the champions. The winning team has been nominated for the “Super 8” Phase-2 of the competition where it will lock horns with the winners of Damana, Sunjawan, RS Pura, Bari Brahmana, Rajpura, Kathua and Janglot. The “Super 8 ” will be held at Samba from May 3 to May 10, 2016.
Earlier, the 8 teams from the Samba region were divided into two pools with Pool A having Deani & Jatwal,Katli, Pangdhor and Regal and Pool B having Samba, S Kalan, Rajpura and Raiyan.
Commander, Samba Brigade was the chief guest of the event.
Addressing a large gathering, he complimented both the teams for putting up a spirited performance in the final match and wished them good luck.
He urged upon the players to continue to excel in the sports. He also urged the people residing in the Border Areas to be Jagruk Hindustanis in the true sense and be partners with the Security Forces in ensuring security of our Nation.
