Grameen Bank organizes D-FLAP in remote areas

POONCH, Feb 2: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of J&K Grameen Bank,  under the chairmanship of R K Chhibber,  in collaboration with NABARD,  organized Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programme at  village Mohalla Kamriwala (unbanked area) and Taranwali (unbanked area) under the Branch Offices Surankote and Bufliaz, tehsil Surankote, district-Poonch.
Regional Manager Rajouri/Poonch,  R K Narang, was  chief guest on the occasion. He   highlighted  the advantages of the different digital banking products like RuPay KCC and Debit Card, net banking, mobile banking services, etc. His main emphasis was on cashless economy and he guided them to make transactions without having cash in hand, Aadhaar based transactions etc. He also awarded them the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities and advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is a very common trend used by some fraudulent persons active in the market
He also laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by GoI on war footing; that shall ameliorate the lot of unorganised sector that remain deprived from such facilities.
Vipan Gupta, senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man for availing any benefit from the bank and suggested to approach the bank branch directly. He also informed about various lending schemes  available on easy EMIs.  He stressed the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions.
Haji Mohd Shafi ( Sarpanch) and Haji Mohd Munshi (Sarpanch),  Panchs, women of the area and other dignitaries of the villages were also present on the occasion.
Vishal Mehta, Branch Head Surankote, addressed the gathering and detailed them regarding the schemes of the Bank. JLGs, Trade Loan, KCC and Car loans of Rs.15 lakh were also disbursed during the programme. Representatives of various Line Departments also attended the programme. VLW Tariq Hussain helped the bank to aware the local people about the benefits of various schemes of the bank.
Branch Head Bufliaz,  Sudhir Singh stressed upon the social security schemes including APY, PMJJBY, PMSBY and presented the vote of thanks.
