Grameen Bank holds D-FLAP

JAMMU, Jan 24: J&K Grameen Bank, Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion Department, Area Office Kathua, in collaboration with NABARD and physical assistance of Branch Office Swankha Morh, organized D-FLAP (Financial Literacy and Awareness Programme) on the theme of public participation in promoting cashless economy at village Badali in Samba district.
More than 80 persons including Sarpanch, Numberdar, men and woman participated in the camp. Vir Ji Koul, LBO Samba, Satish Sharma designate LBO, Samba and Ramesh Kumar, FLCC Samba, also attended the function.
Surinder Singh, LDM, NABARD, SAMBA who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted about development in banking sector and latest schemes. He informed the participants regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/ corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM Cards, Mobile Banking etc.
Vir Ji Koul, LBO, Samba stressed the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions which would not only save time of the customers, reduce their wait time in banks but also give boost to direct revenues of the Government in the shape of tax collections utilised for development of the villages.
Ramdev Sharma, Area Manager, Kathua, also deliberated in length about various schemes launched by the bank. He apprised the chief guest that due to active participation of our Branch Office Swankha Morh, all the households of village Badali have been linked with our branch and in maximum number of accounts ATM cards have been already issued to account holders.
KCC credit card to the tune of Rs 28 lakh were distributed to farmers on spot. Sunil Kundan, Branch Manager B/O Swankha Morh presented vote of thanks.
