RAJOURI, Dec 3: State Vigilance Organisation sleuths today caught a clerk of GP Fund department Rajouri red handed while accepting Rs 10,000 as graft from a retired Government employee.
Official sources said that on the basis of written complaint lodged by one Hari Singh, son of Late Sarwan Singh, resident of Hathal, tehsil Sunderbani in district Rajouri who retired as Meter Reader in PDD on July 31, 2017 alleging therein that he has visited the GP Fund office Rajouri, number of times for clearing his GP Fund case after his retirement, however, one employee namely, Mohd Rashid Khan who is posted as senior compiler in GP Fund office Rajouri has demanded Rs 15,000 bribe for preparing his final GP Fund case.
The complainant further stated that inspite of the fact that he has completed all the formalities, he is not given the final clearance certificate. The complainant further stated that the above said official is compelling him to pay the bribe of Rs 15,000. However, after negotiations, he has agreed to receive the bribe in two installments of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 each.
The complainant agreed to pay Rs 10,000 as bribe to Mohd Rashid Khan for getting the final GP documents. The complainant appeared in Vigilance Organization along with written complaint against the above mentioned GP Fund employee and requested for appropriate legal action into the matter.
On receiving the complaint, a trap team was constituted under DySP Girdhari Lal who along with other officers/officials of Vigilance department and independent witnesses, arrested Mohd Rashid Khan today from Rajouri area, red handed taking a bribe of Rs10,000 from the complainant.
A case FIR No. 44/ 2017 at Police Station Vigilance Jammu has been registered under Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) J&K PC Act Samvat 2006 and Sec 4-A of the Amended PC Act against the above mentioned accused public servant. The accused has been arrested and further investigation was in progress.
