KATHUA, Mar 22:Union Railway and Coal Minister, Piyush Goyal today took a dig at Congress and other opposition parties for insulting the nation and Indian Armed forces and demanded an apology from them.
The Union Minister, who accompanied his Ministerial colleague, Dr Jitendra Singh for filing his nomination papers from Udhampur-Doda constituency here, while talking to reporters, said the remarks of Indian Overseas Congress chief, Sam Pitroda speaks about the mindset of the Congress, Gandhi and others who keep siding with Pakistan instead of their own country.
Lambasting Congress chief, Rahul Gandhi for his close aide Pitroda’s remarks, Goyal said that Congress chief should apologize immediately to the nation, the armed forces of the country and those who have laid down their lives to protect the national unity and integrity from time to time. Terming it a deplorable statement, he said Congress has made entire nation to held its head in shame for such remarks of Pitroda. “The party has insulted the nation as well its armed forces and the martyrs”.
While strongly condemning these remarks of the Congress leader, Goyal also hit out at Samajwadi Party leader, Ramgopal Yadav’s remarks on Balakot attack and termed them shameful. “I don’t expect such a statement from Yadav who I think is a wise leader”. Such statements are the reflection of the mindset of the Opposition parties, the Union Minister remarked.
He said when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led Government has attacked roots of terror, the opposition is making such condemnable remarks which are not tolerable and “I hope the people of the country will teach them a lesson”. “They (opposition) are getting aligned against Modi who is making relentless efforts to maintain unity and integrity of nation”, he added.
He said it is the same Congress which celebrated the Pakistan Foundation Day. He added that Congress, Samajwadi Party and National Conference headed by Dr Farooq Abdullah have same mindset as they believe in one ideology and they wanted that nation should not have retaliated the terror attack.
While commenting on Sam’s remarks he said “it is the sad day for entire India. Sam is Rahul Gandhi’s aide, philosopher and guide. He is some body whom Rahul Gandhi follows and is also chairman of Manifesto Committee scripting the future of Congress party.”
Later addressing a mammoth election rally in support of BJP candidate, Dr Jitendra Singh, Goyal turned tables on Congress for Sam’s remarks on air strikes and defaming Armed forces and bringing a shame to nation with Sam’s remarks. “I don’t think the people of this Constituency as well as entire nation will forget this and forgive Congress”, he added.
He said people of entire Constituency should enmass vote in favour of BJP so that the opposition candidates forfeit their security deposits. He regretted that some people are questioning the valour of Indian Army which is dedicated to the service of nation day and night.
Referring to PM Narendra Modi, the Union Minister said that he (Modi) is such a leader who will not even sleep for the entire night when it is the question to protect the nation while Congress leaders knocked the doors of Supreme Court at 3 am for releasing terrorists.
Making a scathing attack on NC leader and former Minister, Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, for directly supporting terror, Goyal said there is no difference in Congress and NC. “The two parties have made alliance for three seats in the State and I want to know what message they are giving to country”, he added.
The Union Minister said that the weak people can’t run the country and entire nation is with Modi in his fight against terror and making India strong. He expressed the hope that Dr Jitendra Singh will get full public support as people know that country is safe in the hands of Modi. Dr Jitendra Singh gave impetus to development programmes here and also implemented all policies and public welfare programmes launched by Modi Government in his constituency, he added.
He said Dr Jitendra Singh along with PM Narendra Modi worked for development of the nation while highlighting various public welfare schemes and projects launched by Modi Government during last five years. Goyal made a special reference to initiative taken by Dr Jitendra Singh in sanctioning of two AIIMS for the State as well as Shahpur Kandi and Ujh national projects which will improve power and water supply in the Jammu region and revolutionize the lives of people of this region by brining prosperity to the entire area.
Hitting out at Congress, he said, Dr Jitendra Singh did a lot of work for his Constituency and still Congress is making allegations and politicking the issues. “Congress is with Pakistan, who is sending terrorists in the State, he added.
Goyal said instead of opposition condemning the terrorism and their handlers in Pakistan with one voice, NC, Congress and PDP are supporting them. “They have put a challenge to us and to defeat their designs the people have to strengthen Narendra Modi and Dr Jitendra Singh. “This message should go to every house in the Constituency as you have to ensure historical victory for BJP from this Constituency”, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh who filed his nomination papers while addressing the rally said that he is seeking the re-election on the plank of development done by him in his Constituency during last five years while comparing it to his predecessors who represented the constituency earlier.
Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted several developmental projects taken up in hand right from Lakhanpur to far flung areas of Doda, Kisthwar and Reasi. He said some game changing projects like Shahpur Kandi, Ujh Birage, conservation of river Devika, AIIMS, Medical Colleges, Engineering Colleges bridges upgradation of schools and colleges, three percent reservation to border people will change the fate of people in the area.
He asked the people to pose the question to opposition leaders that why they failed to take up such projects in hand during their rule and why the discrimination was made with the border people who were denied the benefits of reservation for decades together.
Terming Kathua a land of martyrs, Dr Jitendra Singh said that Dr Shayama Prasad Mookherjee founder president of Jana Sangh laid down his life here for a supreme cause and three generations of people followed the same path. He said during his Vijay rally in 2014, BJP took a pledge to start all the abandoned schemes and projects to make J&K at par with other developed states of the country and he worked tirelessly to achieve this goal in last five years.
He asked why Shahpur Kandi was put into cold storage for decades together as the previous rulers did not want to benefit the farmers of a particular area. He, while attacking Congress and Kashmir parties, said that surgical strikes on terror camps in Pak hurt Congress and Kashmir parties more than terrorists.
He said what can be more injustice with people that border denizens were deprived of reservation which was given to LoC people because two ministers came from LoC area. He, while lambasting opposition parties, said that those who can’t condemn terror can’t issue sermons to BJP.
Dr Jitendra Singh said Congress is having neither supporters nor activists and they hire activists to run the party show. “The party is also bereft of issues and hence it invents issues”, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh cautioned the people of the canards being spread by opposition parties and asked them not to ear these rumors but take this election like a war.
Addressing the rally, former Deputy CM, Dr Nirmal Singh asked people to ensure victory of Dr Jitendra Singh by voting enmass in favour of party on the polling day.
Highlighting the policies and programmes of Narendra Modi led Government, he said care was taken of last man in the last queue be served during his rule. Turning tables on Congress, he said in 70 years it did nothing instead of promoting dynastic rule and depriving common masses of the benefits of Government schemes. They looted the nation during their rule, he said, adding every scheme launched by Modi Government was poor centric and it was the result of his diplomacy that Pakistan stands isolated in the comity of nations at present.
