Govt to upgrade 400 schools: Bukhari

JAMMU, Jan 30: Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today said that the Government has approved up-gradation of 200 Middle Schools (100 in each division) to the level of High School and 200 High Schools (100 in each division) to the level of Higher Secondary School in the State.
Replying to a question of Vibodh Gupta in the Upper House today, the Minister said that the up-gradation of these schools would be done as per the existing norms/feasibility and compatibility of GIS Mapping. The up-gradation of these schools shall be subject to availability of funds for creation of requisite staff and infrastructure, he added.
The Minister further informed that 2,154 vacancies of teachers have been referred to JKSSB under direct recruitment quota including 14 vacancies of district Rajouri. He further informed that 86 Masters have been appointed in the district recently adding that the department has also initiated the process of rationalization of staff and consolidation of resources. He further informed that the process of finalization of ReT selection panels are pending in the department.
