JAMMU, Apr 1: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today asked the Members of the Legislative Assembly to prefer their demands to the Government in writing for setting up of fire-fighting stations in their constituencies so that these are examined and considered on merits.
When various members spoke about the need of fire stations in their constituencies and several others wanted to get their similar demands registered by the Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, Chief Minister intervened and said, “in order to save the time of the House I request the members to send their demands in writing for setting up of fire-fighting stations in their constituencies to the Home Department so that these are considered for sanctioning on merits”.
Earlier, while replying to the supplementaries of various members and main question of National Conference MLA, Peer Afaq Ahmed, Mr Kichloo said, “Government is considering to establish fire stations in required areas”, adding “fire service stations working in internal arrangements would  also be regularized in due course of time”.
