Govt testing patience of Nowshera, Kalakote, Sunderbani people: Ex-MLC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 2: Former MLC and senior Congress leader, Ravinder Sharma has blamed the Govt of testing the patience of agitating people, over the demand  for creation of posts of ADCs in Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote and sanction of district status comprising of  three sub-divisions.
Reacting to the prolonged stalemate and continued agitation in three sub-divisions, PCC leader blamed the Govt for creating this situation by   peace – meal announcements on selective and pick and choose basis for creating ADCs in Koteranka, Basohli, Billawar and some other areas. The Govt did not constitute any mechanism or commission to study and consider the genuine demands of other deserving areas, especially long pending demand of this area, which has led to the prevailing row.
PCC leader said the political considerations should not overweigh or overtake merit and criteria for extending facilities of administrative convenience. Some ruling leaders are in the competitive race for creating and retaining their vote bank and playing politics, which is unfortunate and failure of the Govt and ruling leaders. Any biased decision would be counter- productive and force to the people to continue and intensify their struggle.
Pleading for grant of ADC status to all  three sub-divisions on the pattern  of Basohli and Billawar where the distance is 30 kms only, whereas the inter-se distance between each sub-division HQ of Sunderbani, Nowshera and Kalakote is around 40 kms or above, to help resolve the issue.
Sharma demanded creation of a district based on the vast area of three sub-divisions of Nowshera-Sunderbani and Kalakote at the earliest taking into account the aspirations of the people over their long pending demand. He appealed to the people especially the senior and genuine leadership of these areas to resolve the issue amicably in order to facilitate the administration and Govt to take a realistic decision in this regard.
He offered the constructive support on behalf of the party to resolve the issue and said that party is considering to send a high level delegation of the party to meet the local representatives of three sub-divisions  and hoped that the leaders would rise above their political interests in the larger interests of the public to diffuse the situation and resolve the issue.
