Govt terminates 8 doctors for unauthorized absence

JAMMU, Dec 29: Government today ordered termination of services of eight doctors for their prolonged unauthorized absence from their duties despite a number of notices served to them.
The doctors, whose services have been terminated, are Dr Rumana (Medical Officer) daughter of Bashir Masudi, resident of Rehab Sahib Aali Kadal (Srinagar); Medical Officer Dr Tajali Nazir Shora, son of Nazir Ahmad Shora, resident of Bemina Housing Colony (Srinagar); Medical Officer Dr Iqbal Rasool, son of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Alnoor Colony Bagh Buchpora (Srinagar); Medical Officer Dr Bilal Ahmad Baba, son of Abdul Rehman Baba, resident of Ishbar Nishat (Srinagar); Medical Officer Dr Mohd Idrees Bashir, son of Mir Abdul Bashir Rafayi, resident of Tawheedabad, Nowshera (Srinagar); Medical Officer Dr Muzamil Ahmad Baba, son of Mohd Sultan Baba, resident of Qamarabad Qamarwari (Srinagar); Medical Officer Dr Imran Ahmad Gatoo, son of Ghulam Nabi Gatoo, resident of Radio Colony, Rajbagh (Srinagar) and Medical Officer, Dr Mohd Hussain, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir, resident of Dalwatch.
According to the order, after so many notices being served to them, these doctors were given a final opportunity to rejoin their duties in the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir by issuing a notice vide No HME/HRM/69/2017 dated 14-08-2017 to join their duties within 15 days from the issuance of the notice but neither they join their duties within stipulated period time nor submitted any reply in their defence, which shows that they were not interested in serving the department any more.
“Therefore, in terms of Article 128 of J&K, CSR Vol-I, the services of following doctors are hereby terminated from the respective dates of their unauthorized absence”, the order read.
