Govt Teachers Forum highlights demands

KATHUA, June 26: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Government Teachers Forum (JKGTF) was held at Billawar under the chairmanship of Amar Nath Thakur, state chairman SEECC/JKGTF, here today to discuss the burning issues of teachers.
Speakers said that files for regularization of ReT/KGBV teachers were pending since long but no action has been taken by the Directorate while regularization data of incharge cadres and incharge lecturers has not been displayed on the Directorate’s official web site for verification and corrections as was demanded.
They also demanded release of pay arrears and salary grant of SSA, transparent transfer policy, rationalization of teaching staff, adjustment of surplus principals, lecturers and masters, etc.
Addressing the meeting, Thakur said that these just and long pending demands of teachers and all other incharge cadres have already been taken up at the highest level
with Education Minister, Secretary and Director from time to time.
Parveen Singh, State general secretary and Surjit Singh, district president JKGTF, in their speech, requested teachers to remain united and work for the betterment of students as well as the department.
The teachers decided to hold another meeting shortly at Billawar to elect zonal bodies of JKGTF unanimously.
The meeting was addressed by Mohd Salim, Hem Raj, Surinder Kumar, Khushi Ram, BishanDass, Madan Lal, Romesh Kumar, Ajit Singh and Bhushan Kumar.
