Govt taking every possible step to mitigate people’s problems: Kohli

JAMMU, Dec 9: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli today said the Government is taking every possible step to mitigate people’s problems and is committed to provide equitable development to all the three regions of the State.
The Minister was addressing a public gathering in village Chamba Mandi Danghyote in Rajouri.
The ongoing construction works of various mega projects is a testimony of the Government’s commitment to provide better living conditions to the people, the Minister said, adding that the Government is promoting engagement of local youth in these projects.
Referring to the development works under execution in Kalakote, Kohli said that several micro and macro projects have been sanctioned in the area and construction work on up-gradation and improvement of existing water supply schemes and power infra has been taken up by the concerned agencies. The departments have been instructed to expedite the pace of work on these projects and complete them in a stipulated time frame, he stressed.
Meanwhile, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about various problems being faced by them related included construction of protection bunds, up-gradation and improvement of link roads, providing of adequate medicare and drinking water supply facilities in all health and educational institutions of Kalakote.
The Minister assured them that their genuine demands will be solved in a phased manner.
