Govt responsible for Nowshera, Sunderbani unrest: Ex-MP

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU,  Feb 22: Blaming the State Government for the creating unrest amongst the people of different areas over the issue of creation of posts of ADCs due to the arbitrary approach and pick and choose mechanism adopted by the Government, the senior Congress leader and former MP Madan Lal Sharma has asked the Government to immediately consider the genuine demand of district status to end the ongoing unrest in Nowshera- Sunderbani area.
Taking strong exception to the arbitrary method adopted by the State Government in creating posts of ADCs in some places on pick and choose basis, purely on the political considerations, Ex-MP  regretted that no fair, transparent and rational method or mechanism was adopted to consider the claim of different deserving areas and come out with a comprehensive proposal to this regard.
The Government is squarely responsible for creating a situation whereby the people have to come on roads to  make their voice heard after having been ignored in the process. Nowshera has observed bandh for many days now and people are on protest there as well in Sunderbani area, while the Govt has failed to respond to the situation.
Meanwhile, former Legislator and PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has also criticised the   State Government for its bias decision with regard to creation of  ADC’s post for Kotranka, ignoring Nowshera-Sunderbani. He said it is long pending demand of creation of new district taking into account the vast areas of Nowshera-Sunderbani and Kalakote. The Govt and authorities must immediately initiate the process of dialogue with the people to accede to their genuine demand of district in the area, at the earliest.
