JAMMU, Dec 31: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today said that the Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is resolutely pursuing the agenda of overall development of every nook and corner of the State.
Maintaining that the Government will come up to the expectations of every section of the society, the Minister said it is the endeavor of the Government to ensure active participation of people in the development process to cherish the goal of good governance and transparent mechanism which is the hallmark of the Government.
He said the Government has formulated a well tailored programme to fulfill people’s expectations in every sector and very soon there will be a visible change on the ground.
Speaking after launching developmental works in ward No. 65, Dream City in Raipur-Domana constituency near here today, the Minister said that the previous NC-Congress Government only promoted contractor system and misused the funds provided by the Central Government with the result the constituency remained backward on all fronts. He said the Government has inherited the outlived infrastructure and empty coffers with the result the State had to make a request to the Centre for sanctioning special package for rebuilding/upgradating the existing infrastructure and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was kind enough to sanction Rs 80,000 crore package.
The Government was fully focusing on the implementation of this special package and developing a vibrant infrastructure which will last for next decades. The quality of works being executed on ground are self-speaking and people can make the difference between past and present, said the Minister.
Interacting with the workers, the Minister urged them to spread the programmes and policies of the Government so that the benefits of flagship programmes percolate down to the needy. He asked them to remain in public and facilitate the poor beneficiaries to avail benefits of welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padao and other welfare related schemes which are aimed at to uplift the poor.
Several deputations also called on the Minister and projected the local demands before him. He assured to get these examined on priority for appropriate action.
