Dy CM discusses Pak shelling, Amarnath yatra with PM

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various issues, including cross-border selling and ongoing pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, which also came under militant attack that left eight dead and over 20 injured.

An official spokesperson said here this evening that Dr Singh today called on the Prime Minister at New Delhi and discussed the issues and steps being taken by the Government for sustaining peace in the valley.

Matters of internal security and issues pertaining to refugees were also taken up, he said. The Dy CM sought a special recruitment drive in the central security forces for hilly and border areas of the State. (AGENCIES)
