JAMMU, Jan 25: On the eve of Republic Day, Government has ordered release of 8 convicted prisoners prematurely and remitted their remaining term of imprisonment.
The convicted prisoners ordered to be released are Raj Singh, son of Khajoor Singh of Toph Manhasa Jammu, Narinder Kumar, son of Banarsi Dass of Nagri Parole district Kathua, Balbir Singh, son of Rattan Singh of district Gurdaspur, Punjab, Tilak Raj, son of Bhagat Ram of district Kathua, Kamlesh Devi, wife of Ramesh Lal of district Samba, Swarnoo Devi alias Giddi, wife of Sat Pal of District Samba, Javed Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Syed Wani of district Anantnag and Mohammad Yousuf Lone, son of Habibullah Lone of district Kupwara.
The prisoners were lodged in Central Jail Jammu KB, Central Jail Srinagar, District Jail Jammu Ambphalla and Central Jail Gurdaspur Punjab.
