President of the Sabha, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak while talking to media-persons here said that after organizing the Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary celebration on Sept 23, he along with some members moved to Srinagar where he had discussions with Civil Society members, some political stalwarts and legal luminaries and found them on the same page for bringing in a new order to usher the J&K State on the path of goodwill, peace, faith and prosperity.
DSS chief reiterated the popular public demand  and exhorted the Government to read the writing on the wall and declare  Sept 23 as a holiday so that the new generations can take inspiration from the social reforms brought in the society by Maharaja Hari Singh and strengthen peaceful co-existence, restore mutual faith and work jointly for the prosperity of the whole State.
He said that it was highly encouraging the way all  Dogras, students’ organisations, teachers’ associations, schools/ colleges unions/ associations reacted positively to hold programmes to pay tributes to the Maharaja Hari Singh.

There are many more serious and sensitive issues facing the State and for any government, the right course will be to consolidate synergies with all the three regions of the state, rather being adamant and suppressive on a matter like this, which has divisive dimensions and can be disastrous for the whole State.
He also hoped that Pakistan will understand the gravity of the situation in South East Asia and desist from the path of confrontation and her self- destruction which has created lot of miseries in the last 70 years.
Dr NK Dogra, vice president DSS, Prem Sagar Gupta, gen secretary, Maj Gen GS Jamwal, Col Dr Virender Kumar Sahi,  Gambhir Dev Singh, Ravi Singh Slathia, president Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Maha Sabha, Rameshwar Manhas,  and Janak Khajuria were also present.
