Govt may terminate NHM employees

JAMMU, Feb 11: Taking serious note of the affected patient care in the hospitals across the State due to ongoing strike of NHM employees, Government has directed all the Deputy Commissioners to issue notices to the protesting employees for resuming work within 48 hours failing which their services will be terminated.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that the Deputy Commissioners have also been directed to ensure that no payment of wages is made to any NHM employee during the period of absence from duty.
“The termination orders of the employees will be issued by competent authority i.e. the one which made appointments,” Government said and further directed that fresh recruitment process be started immediately for the positions falling vacant on account of termination of services of NHM employees.
