KATHUA, May 4: Reiterating the Government’s commitment to ensure quality education to the students in the Government schools, Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning , Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, today said this was being done by strengthening infrastructure in the schools and making available adequate number of qualified teaching staff.
“With better learning environment in schools the state can definitely achieve the long cherished goal of 100 percent literacy.
The Minister was speaking after laying foundation stone of Government High School building in Dhanjasdhar in tehsil Billawar.
He also inaugurated newly built additional building of Upper Primary School, Mallar constructed at a total cost of Rs 7.45 lakh under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan.
Dr Sharma said with the up-gradation of schools education accessibility has been extended to the farthest corners of the state setting the stage for universalization of the primary education. He called upon the students to make full use of their talents to achieve success in their life.
The Minister also convened public grievance camp in Dhanjhansdhar and listened to the problems and demands of the locals.
The demands projected during the camp were mostly related to the provision of safe drinking water, electricity and road connectivity.
Other issues highlighted by various deputations included, installation of hand pumps and road connectivity for Mallar, blacktopping of Suian- Mallar road, adequate teaching staff in schools, play ground and veterinary hospital in Dhanjasdhar, correction of entry in Bandobasti revenue record of inhabitants of Dhan, electric poles for Dhanjasdhar and Mallar, new school building for Lakhri Primary School, revised water Supply Scheme for Dhanjasdhar and transformer for the lakhri panchayat.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma gave patient hearing and assured early redressal of the demands . He passed instructions to the concerned department to come up with workable solution of the issues highlighted by the panchs and sarpanchs.
He announced 15 poles each for Dhanjasdhar and Mallar area. He also announced Rs 3 lakh from his CDF for taking up development works at Dhanjasdhar panchayat. He assured that all deserving people will be covered under IAY, while sericulture and cattle sheds would be provided under Sericulture and MGNREGA schemes.
The Minister also dedicated newly built CFC (Community Facility Centre) to the people at Dhan.
