Govt institutions celebrate R-Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: 69th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by various Government and semi-Government Institutions by unfurling the National Flag and organizing impressive functions, here yesterday.
Minister of State for Education and Tourism, Priya Sethi attended   Republic Day functions organized at ITI and Mubarak Mandi Jammu. Paying rich tributes to the freedom fighters, the Minister said that the nation owes gratitude to these great leaders who sacrificed their lives to secure freedom from foreign rule. She also paid tribute to the soldiers and security personnel who stand as the guardians to maintain peace and protect the sovereignty of the country. “We all have to strive hard together for maintaining communal harmony and ensure that the benefits of development percolate down to each and every strata of society” she added.
Vice Chairman JAKFED, Munish Sharma unfurled National Flag at the Republic Day celebration function at Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited Office Complex Jammu. He also took the salute along with Managing Director Deepika Sharma and Officers & Officials of JAKFED. This was followed by singing of the national anthem and cultural programme by the JAKFED employees.
The programme concluded with a speech by the Vice Chairman motivating the employees of JAKFED and others to realize the visions and dream of future India.
At Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex. JMC Commissioner Ramesh Kumar hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of Republic Day.  On the occasion, the Commissioner appreciated the work of officers/officials as well as SKCs of JMC and stressed upon for fulfillment of their duties and responsibilities with dedication, hard work and sincerity for a bright and prosperous society. He also stressed for providing better services to the general public and further stated that there was need to educate the general masses to maintain our well being by way of keeping our surroundings neat and clean.
Among others, Joint Commissioner (A), Rajesh Sharma, Asstt. Commissioner Revenue,   Vinakshi Koul,   Chief Accounts Officer,  Neeraj Gupta, Secretary,  Sunaina Sharma, Joint Commissioner (W), Kushal Chand, Special Asstt. to Commissioner,  Rakesh Chander Gupta, Health Officer,  Dr Anita Salgotra, Divisional Town Planner,  R K  Tutoo, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr  Jaswant Singh, Chief Transport Officer,  Tariq Raina,  Chief Khilafwarzi Officer,  Rajesh Gupta,  Kamni Kesar  and others were  present on the occasion.
The Republic Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra. The main function at Katra was held at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, where Dr  M  K  Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the contingents drawn from CRPF, NCC boys and girls, Scouts and Guides, besides the students of various educational institutions.
The students of various educational institutions presented a captivating cultural programme on this occasion.   Dr. Kumar gave away prizes to the students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural programme.
Among those present on the occasion, included Neelam Khajuria, SDM, Katra;  Naresh Singh, Additional SP, Katra;  Jitendra Kumar Gupta, Commandant, CRPF 6th Bn and others.
As part of the Republic Day celebrations, Dr  M  K  Kumar, also hoisted the tricolour at a function held at the Central Office of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Katra. Among those present on the occasion were  Pankaj Gupta, Dr  Arvind Karwani and  Amit Vermani, Dy  CEOs;  Hem Kant Prasher, Chief Accounts Officer;  Ashok Kumar, Director Sports and other officers and employees of the Shrine Board.
At the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, Dr  (Brig) M  M  Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, unfurled the tricolour. Medicos and staff were present.
Republic Day celebrations were held at SKPA Udhampur by unfurling the national flag by M Sulaiman Salaria, ADGP, Director SKPA Udhampur, who also took the salute. Gathering of the staff of SKPA Udhampur their family member’s trainees and respectable citizens of Udhampur took part in the celebration function.
The Director Academy stressed upon the trainees, Police officers/officials and gathering at the venue for strengthening the brotherhood, fraternity and secular character of the Constitution of India.  He asked the Police officials to acquire Police professionalism through the training so that they accomplish the task assigned to them to ensure protection of the life, property and dignity of the citizens of the State and the country and to thwart the evil design of the enemy.
PTTI Vijaypur celebrated Republic Day with enthusiasm and traditional fervour.  The function started with the hoisting of National Flag followed by National Anthem.     Ashok Kumar, SSP Principal PTTI Vijaypur, was chief guest on the occasion and he took the salute of the parade contingents.  He urged upon the gathering to make this day a colourful event every year to inculcate a sense of patriotism among the young generation and make every possible effort to maintain the sovereignty of the nation irrespective of caste, colour and creed.
This was followed by mass-PT, sports activities and cultural programmes presented by Trainees, students of local Govt school representing different customs and regional values of the Nation.
Savita Parihar (SSP) Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur;   R S Jamwal (Dy SP R&D),  Mukesh Kumar (Dy SP Admn),   Karanjit Singh (Dy SP )Outdoor,  Rakesh Sambyal Dy SP Indoor,  Ajay Punjabi Dy SP Tech,  Ramesh Kataria Dy SP,  Raman Kumar Dy SP,  Hemanshu Sunill Mahajan Inspector Prosecution, Inspr. Rajesh Rana RI, Senior citizens, retired police personnel of the area, staff members of adjoining Govt schools with their students and others were present on the occasion.
Government Railway Police (GRP) Katra organized the Republic Day function at GRP Lines Katra. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by singing of the National Anthem by the officers and jawans of GRP Katra. SSP Railways Katra, Ranjit Singh Sambyal   unfurled the National Flag and presided over the function.  He highlighted the achievements gained by GRP Katra during the year 2017 regarding welfare of the jawans as well as security of Railway system and assured for further improvements in future also.
The function was attended by SDPOs Railways Katra /Udhampur, SHO P/S GRP Katra, Railway officers, RPF officers.   Hoteliers, senior citizens and retired Police officers of the locality.
Republic Day was celebrated at District Jail Jammu with great enthusiasm and greetings were exchanged by the participants and jail inmates. National Flag was hoisted by Dinesh Sharma, Senior Superintendent Jail. Officer Commanding CRPF, Ravina Malik, Jail Doctors, Jail and CRPF officers were also present.
On the occasion of R-Day, a cultural programme was also organized wherein DIG Prisons, Dr M S Lone was the chief guest.
At Sub-Jail Hiranagar, Republic Day celebrations marked hoisting of National Flag by Incharge Superintendent Jail, Feroz Ahmed Lone. A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion. Jail and CRPF staff besides Jail inmates were present on the function.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System -II celebrated  Republic Day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu with gaiety and  enthusiasm.  H K  Mallick, Executive Director, NRTS -II,  unfurled the National Flag.  Amar Jit, General Manager (Consultancy , Commercial & Contracts ), senior officials including employees, their families and children were present on the occasion.
H K  Mallick  urged upon the employees to continue to serve the organization with dedication and sincerity.  He  called upon the children to nurture the mission of a developed republic India and feel proud to be the generation next of this great nation. On the occasion, Fancy Dress show by children and patriotic songs and dances by members of  Shrishti Mahila Samiti and children of the employees, fun games and competitions  for employees were organized to mark the occasion. Later the chief guest gave away the prizes to the wining participants. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr  Jaydeep S  Chouhan, Chief Manager (HR).
Salal Power Station celebrated 69th Republic Day with zeal and enthusiasm at Ramlila Ground Jyotipuram wherein a large number of employees, CISF personnel, their family members, school children and locals participated.  Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station, was the chief guest and he hoisted the National Flag.
Mr Shekhar recalled Dr B R Ambedkar who drafted the Constitution of India besides recalling the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during freedom struggle.  Speaking about NHPC, Mr Shekhar said that NHPC Limited is playing a vital role towards development of the nation by contributing its power share to 23 States of the country through its 25 operating Power Stations across the country. On the occasion, all the Office buildings and Guests Houses were lightened, giving a festive look to the Power Station. Cultural programs were presented by KV students and Play Way School kids. The program concluded with prize distribution by the chief guest and guest of honour, Vanita Shekhar.
Republic Day was celebrated at Dulhasti Power Station Kishtwar with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. Head of the Power Station,   Yoginder Kotha, unfurled the Tricolor and took the salute. After national anthem, CISF contingent s performed the parade in respect of the national flag.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Kotha highlighted the achievements of the country which are leading India to become power of the world. He also mentioned the role of NHPC in infrastructural development of the country through attributing clean power. The contribution of Dulhasti power Station in the development of local area through CSR activities as per policies of the corporation were also highlighted.
On this occasion, a cultural programme was also performed by the students and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya and NHPC employees. Dr  Nisha Sharma, CMO,  A K  Jha, Commandant CISF, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, officers, employees, families, representatives of Unions and local residents were present.
Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Ltd. (CVPP) celebrated the Republic Day by organizing functions at its Corporate office, Chenab Jal Shakti Bhavan, Jammu and Project/Site offices at Kishtwar.
The main function at the Corporate Office Jammu was presided over by the Managing Director of the Company, M S Babu, who hoisted the National Flag. This was followed by singing of National Anthem and address to the gathering. Mr Babu laid emphasis on the role of Chenab Valley Power Projects in the overall growth and development of the nation and Kishtwar region in particular. He beseeched cooperation and integrity of the employees for materializing this vision of the company.
Republic day celebrations were also held at the CVPP Projects, Kishtwar. At Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Power Project, the National Flag was hoisted by  B L Aswal (Chief Engineer), while at Kiru/Kwar Hydro Electric Power Projects, the National Flag was hoisted by Virender Salman (Chief Engineer-I/c), followed by sweets distribution.
Income Tax Department Udhampur celebrated Republic Day at Income Tax Office, Udhampur where the National Flag was unfurled by Income Tax Officer, M L Dogra. It was followed by National Anthem by the audience.  Mr Dogra said that celebration of any National festival can be successful only if the nation’s economic condition is sound which can be done only through timely and correct filing of income tax returns and payment of taxes by the taxpayers.  The audience was also apprised about the Government policies and importance of paying taxes in overall development of the nation.
The function was attended by Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary Income Tax Bar Association along with its members, Ravi Malguria, president Chamber of Commerce, Surinder Khalsa, president Beopar Mandal, Heads and Members of various other business associations and Govt employees from various Departments.
To celebrate the Republic Day, P N Pandita, ISS Assistant Director and Head of office National Sample Survey (Field Operations Division) Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, hoisted National Flag at the National Sample Survey Office at Sainik Colony.
On the occasion, National Anthem was also sung while the NSSO staff members paid homage to the martyrs, who contributed to get the nation liberated from foreign rule.
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt  of India,  celebrated Republic Day at NYK office. The function started with Flag hoisting ceremony by District Youth Coordinator Nissar Ahmed Butt. After this, all the participants took pledge to build a new India by 2022, followed by National Anthem. DYC Nissar Ahmed Butt interacted  with youth and addresses them about nation building, national integration and the feeling of oneness among them. He  also asked the youth to motivate others about the Indian Constitution.
