Govt ignoring border people: Balbir Singh

JAMMU, Sept 5: Member of  Legislative Council (MLC) and Congress leader from Billawar, Thakur Balbir Singh today flayed PDP-BJP coalition  for its failure to mitigate miseries of  the border residents.
He alleged that except photo sessions for cheap publicity, nothing concrete has been done on the ground to provide relief to the people, who have been bearing brunt of the skirmishes on the borders.
Interacting with delegation of border residents of Kathua, who called on him here today, Singh regretted that miseries of the border residents have been increasing with every passing day but the Government has remained unmoved.
The MLC assured that he would effectively take up their problems with the concerned authorities and if needed would launch agitation.
Regretting that borders residents  are facing hardship due to prevailing situation on the borders, Singh regretted that Govt  failed to control the situation. He said that fragile peace is prevailing on the border presently but the State Govt has failed to provide basic amenities to the border residents.
He said that on the one hand border inhabitants are facing threats to their lives due to tension on border while on the other hand, Govt  has added to their miseries due to its apathetic approach.
