Govt fails to address basic public issues; Manohar

KATHUA, Apr 9:  Senior Congress leader and former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP-PDP Government has failed to address the basic issues of the public and resolve the issue of  ceasefire violations.
Addressing public meetings in Kandi belt of Billawar constituency today, Dr Sharma       lamented BJP for not attending any of the serious issues pertaining to the common masses  and also failed to deal with the Pak sponsored proxy war.
Dr Sharma strongly criticized BJP for humiliating the  martyrs and their families who gave supreme sacrifice for the service of motherland and pointed out the step motherly treatment  by  BJP-PDP Govt towards the soldiers for not providing a single penny of relief to the families of martyrs. He alleged  that the families of martyrs belonging to other states are getting ex-gratia relief amounting to Rs 30 lakhs to Rs 1 crore, while at the same time State martyrs like Hav Roshan lal of village Nachlah, Subedar Madan Lal of Refugee Colony Bakral and one from Mukandpur, all belonging to district Kathua have  denied any financial assistance.
The PCC  leader said  unfortunately  BJP-PDP Govt has taken  total biased approach in each and every issue related to Jammu  region as evident from the Government’s decisions to provide Rs 5 lakhs relief to the families of diseases civilians in Pak firing in Poonch and Rajouri areas and simultaneously paid meager amount of  Rs 1 lakhs to the families of civilians belonging to Hiranagar, Samba, Bishnah, RS Pura and Akhnoor.
The local people apprised Dr Sharma of  the daily hardships they are facing due to non- availability of  drinking water at village Chajirth. They showed strong resentment against Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh for not making the local tube well operational which was installed by previous Govt in 2013-2014.
Ex-sarpanch Swarn Singh,  Dalbir Singh Sethi, Kundan Lal,  Naseeb Chand, Ex-Sarpanch Surinder Singh, Karam Chand Khajuria,  also spoke on the occasion.
