Govt fails to provide power infrastructure in Digiana: FOIJ

JAMMU, Aug 2: Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) has alleged that Government has miserably failed to provide better power infrastructure to the industry in Digiana area.
An emergency meeting of the members of the Digiana Industrial Association (DIA), Jammu was held today with Lalit Mahajan, chairman FOIJ in the presence of  Jinteder Aul, president of the Association at  Digiana Industrial  Estate  in which worst ever power supply position in the Industrial Estate was discussed in detail.
During discussion,  Mr Aul  informed that  nearly 150 micro and small scale units located in Digiana Industrial Estate are suffering very badly due to un-scheduled power curtailment.  At present, the power position is so worst that the supply remains disturbed even during the day time resulting into huge production and financial losses to unit holders.
Mr Aul pointed out that Digiana Industrial Estate was the 1st Industrial Estate in Jammu province which was established in 1962 and Sheds were allotted to the sons of soil by then Industries Minister, Govt of India  Manu Bhai Shah to bring the Jammu on Industrial  map of the country but by passing of the time, the Estate was always neglected in the term of Infrastructure upgradation.
The matter was taken with Director, Industries & Commerce for construction of dedicated Receiving Station in Industrial Estate and a DPR (Detailed Project Report) was prepared by Chief Engineer M&RE Jammu for the construction of 33/11 KV – 1/63 MVA Receiving Station with the estimated cost of Rs  280 lakh and forwarded to the Director Industries Jammu during November 2015 which was duly forwarded by the Director of Industries Jammu to Commissioner/Secretary, Industries on  December 12, 2015 but till date no action has been taken by PDD.
Federation of Industries urged upon DyCM,  Dr  Nirmal Singh,  and Industries Minister, C P Ganga to intervene into the matter & issue immediate orders  for release the funds for this purpose. The other senior members including Ajay Langar, Sanjay Chopra, Deepak Gupta, Atul Modi and Parveen Jain were also present.
