JAMMU, Aug 30: Expressing serious concern over functioning of State Government, National Conference (NC) senior leader and former Minister, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, slammed it for its failure in fulfilling any of the poll promises made during election campaign.
“People are crying for even basic necessities like water, power and ration, which are not available to common man and this Government has left the people in lurch thereby putting them in worst ever crises in the State”, he said and added that such a behavior on part of Central Government is gross injustice with them, who sacrificed everything for the country.
Highlighting another failure of State Government Sadhotra said that it could not pursue the Central Government to grant package of Rs 25 lacs per family to Refugees of 1965, 1971 which was approved by NC led Government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah.
He condemned the Government for ignoring the Refugees and demanded that approved package by previous Government should immediately be sanctioned in favour of Refugees as they were promised of the same during the election campaign.
Sadhotra appealed the Government to stop talking and begin to act otherwise the resentment which is brewing among masses will force the Government to step down because of their anti youth, anti employee, policies and programmes.
The former Minister also attacked the Central Government for not addressing the genuine issues of Ex-Servicemen who were promised that all their long pending issues will be addressed properly and timely.
He regretted that the NDA Government at the Centre has put the dignity of Ex-Servicemen at stake by adopting delaying tactics in implementing One Rank One Pension (OROP) and left them to protest which is great insult to them because they have given everything in defending their motherland.
