Govt failed to check steep rice in prices of essentials: Sadhotra

JAMMU, Jan 16: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Ajay Sadhotra today said that the BJP-PDP Government has totally failed to check unprecedented rise in prices.
“The fast rise in prices of the day to day use in BJP Government at the Centre and the State has broken the backbone of the common people,” he said while addressing a workers meeting at Goh Manhasan in which a number of youth joined National Conference.
Sadhotra alleged that the BJP Government at the Centre and State have totally failed to check rising prices and common man was living in a very miserable condition. “It is becoming difficult for a common man to meet both ends meet,” he added and drew attention towards the increasing rates of daily needs, particularly the cooking gas cylinder
The National Conference leader  demanded immediate steps by the BJP at Centre and State Government to check and reduce rise in prices.  He further demanded that the Government should give subsidy on essential commodities so that common man could make both ends meet and could be saved from starvation.
Sadhotra  also demanded high level inquiry into the fraud being committed in cooking gas subsidy,    by a sitting Judge of the High Court to come out with facts why common people were  not getting the subsidy and where it was  going.
Others,  who spoke on the occasion, included  Mohan Lal Khajuria, Mohan Lal Sharma, Nagar Mal, Madan Singh, Kewal Kumar, Amar Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Keemat Lal.
