JAMMU, Dec 30: The Jammu Kashmir Govt Employees & Workers Federation (JKGEWF) has declared to observe two day strike on January 3 and 4 in the State.
Addressing a  joint press conference  here today senior trade unionists and members of the Federation, S Kulwant Singh, Shahid Hussain, Subhash Chander, Lekh Raj Khajuria, Paramjit Singh and Aslam Khan said that after a detailed meeting of the Federation members held here on Thursday   it was unanimously decided to observe two day Kam Chhor Hartal on January 3-4, 2017.
They alleged  that Govt has totally failed to resolve the pending issues and demands of the employees and workers. Many employees unions and associations are on the roads. They are holding protests and dharnas  but the State Government has totally turned a deaf ear towards their plight. After observing  anti-employee attitude of this Government , it was decided to observe  two day strike.
In this connection protest rallies will be held at all the district headquarters and later memoranda will be submitted  to the respective Deputy Commissioners for the State Chief Minister.  In Jammu, the rally will be held outside the office of Divisional Commissioner at Rail Head complex on January 4 and at Press Club on January 4.
The major demands included regularization of daily rated/ casual/ need based workers of all the departments, provision of regular wages and implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the State.
