Govt confers retirement, pension benefits to PDC employees

JAMMU, Apr 18: The State Government has conferred retirement and pension benefits to the employees of J&K Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) who were regularized after the formation of Corporation.
This was communicated to Accountant General by the Finance Department in a letter here today. The letter has made it clear that employees who have served for some period as daily wagers prior to formation of J&K State Power Development Corporation (J&KSPDC) and were regularized after its formation will be treated as State Government employees for the purpose of pensionary benefits.
The decision has come as a major relief to the employees who will now by this decision be eligible to get pensionery benefits after retirement said Mohamed Javed Shah, general secretary and Mohammed Shaban Bhat chief organiser Low paid Employees Federation Kashmir respectively and Nazir Ahmed Magrey president Kashmir Electric Employees and Workers Association (KEEWA) in a joint statement issued here today. They said this way a long pending demand of the employees of PDC was settled.
They have also urged the concerned authorities of J&KSPDC to resubmit the pension cases of all such employees so that they are able to get pensionery benefits at the earliest.
