Govt committee to examine irregularities in payment of compensation

JAMMU, Jan 6: The State Government  has constituted a high level committee to go into details  of alleged irregularities in the payment of compensation to the affected persons, whose structures/land were acquired for construction of National Highway from Parimpora to Naribal Crossing in Kashmir.
The committee, headed by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, shall scrutinize and examine all relevant records and identify the bonafide claimants of compensation and advise the Collector, Land Acquisition, PWD Kashmir accordingly to enable him to make timely payments of compensation to bonafide claimants. It shall also fix responsibility for disbursement of compensation to ineligible claimants, if any and recommend action against delinquent public servants.
The committee shall submit its report within one month to the General Administration Department.
Assistant Commissioner (Central), Office of the Div Com Kashmir is Member Secretary of the committee while General Manager, DIC Srinagar and Executive engineer PW(R&B) Department are the members.
