JAMMU, Jan 20: Three Ministers,  two Vice Chairman and MLAs belonging to SC/ ST community were felicitated by All India Confederation of SC, ST and OBC Organisations today on being elected as office bearers of Forum for SC ST Legislators and Parliamentarians J&K Chapter.
The president of the Confederation RK Kalsotra and his team, felicitated Chairman of Forum for SC ST Legislators and Parliamentarians J&K Chapter, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs & Tribal Affairs besides other members.
The office bearers who were felicitated included Co-Organisers Chowdhary Abdul Gani Kohli Minister for Sheep, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries and Chering Dorjey  Minister for Cooperatives,  vice president Asgar Ali Karbalai MLA Kargil, general secretary Neelam Lengah MLA Ramban, general secretary Ch Qamar Hussain, MLA Rajouri
Executive members- Bhushan Lal Dogra Vice Chairman of SC Advisory Board, Ch Gulzar Ahmed Khatana Vice Chairman Gujjar & Bakerwal Advisory Board and Chowdhary Mohammad Akram, MLA Surankote.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Zulfkar Ali said that there is need to unitedly fight for rights of marginalized section of society. He said that Government is committed to uplift downtrodden sections of society.
He stressed upon the people to educate their wards for better future.  He said that only better education can change the fate of the community.
Calling upon marginalized community to be united,  Minister for Cooperatives Dorjey said that till we are not united, the aim of the Forum will remain futile. He added that Forum will highlight the grievances of the downtrodden and suppressed classes especially Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Castes and OBC living in Jammu & Kashmir.
Abdul Gani Kohli threw light  on the aims and objectives of the Forum  while other members also highlighted various issues including creating of atmosphere for best suitable brotherhood.
