Govt committed to overall development: Ganga

JAMMU, Mar 10:  Reiterating the commitment of the Government for the overall development of the State, the Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today said that a comprehensive plan has been formulated for up-gradation and expansion of basic facilities to provide all infrastructural facilities to the people and sought their co-operation in implementing the development programs at the ground level.
This was stated by Minister while addressing a public meeting held at village Gudwal, district Samba where a large number of people drawn from different sections of the society met him and took up their problems and grievances.
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister enlightened about the developmental works completed by the Government in village Gudwal including 12 thousand rupees each for 23 toilets constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission, one thousand rupees for pension of 15 widows, 2 lakhs to five families under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS), construction of Shamshan Ghat worth rupees 7.5 lakhs, 8 hand-pumps, up-gradation of transformer up to 250 KV and many more alike.
Minister also inaugurated the black topping work of 1 km road from Gudwal to Shamshan Ghat to be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh.
He said that an era of development and progress has started in the State, adding that social and economic upliftment of the weaker sections, downtrodden, women, youth and farmer is on prime agenda of the Government. The Minister said that the Government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people of the State.
