Govt committed to develop far flung, remote areas: Chib

KISHTWAR, July 1: “The Government is committed to development of rural and hilly areas of the State”, stated Minister for Sports, R.S Chib while addressing the concluding ceremony of a tournament at Padder in Kishtwar here today.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chib said that the present coalition Government headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is endevouring a lot to empower the people of far flung and hilly areas socially, economically and politically as well. He said expansion of Higher Education, Medicare facility, transport, CA&PD system has been the priority of the Government so that the poor people living in remote and hilly areas get benefited.
MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Saleem Mohammad, AD Planning Kishtwar besides various other officers of District Administration were present on the occasion.
The people of the area projected various demands including establishment of Government Degree College and ITI at Padder, construction of Sports Stadium at Padder besides highlighting other vital issues related to development of their respective areas.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities to submit a list of about 50 girls from the area who have passed 10 + 2 with science subject so that they could be provided nursing training.
Regarding establishment of ITI at Padder, the Minister said that a proposal of 50 ITIs has been submitted to the Government for approval and as soon the sanction is received, the ITI at Padder will be established on priority.
The Minister stressed upon the need of setting up of a Sports Development Forum in the area for providing platform to the youth of the area having talent in various sports so that their talent could get boosted.
