Govt committed to boost industrial sector: DyCM

SRINAGAR, Oct 6: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that the Government is committed for giving the requisite impetus to the industrial sector in the State and in this regard several initiatives have also been undertaken.
The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with the Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir led by its President Mukhtar Yousuf.
Commissioner Secretary Law, Abdul Majid Bhat, Director Codes and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
The deputation projects several issues related to the industrial sector like power amnesty to the industrial sector of the State, ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to the industrial estates of the Valley particularly during the winter, deputing of dedicated staff for all industrial estates of the valley, augmentation as well as  up-gradation of existing grid and receiving stations feeding all industrial estates and purchasing of identified items being manufactured by local electric industry through J&K SICOP. They also pleaded for implementation of the budget announcement related to granting some specific relief to sick industries on account of areas of power surcharge.
The Deputy Chief Minister while assuring the deputation of early redressal of the issues projected by them said that the Government has already initiated some industry friendly initiatives which would further catalyze the industrial growth in the State. He said that the sector is one of the main cornerstones of the economy besides providing the employment opportunity to the youth and it forms one of the core sectors of the prioritize ones.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister also met a deputation of Jammu and Kashmir Village Agriculture Extension Officers.
The deputation projected several issues like inclusion of the adhoc services into their regular services, revision of grade pay and other related issues.
