Govt committed to provide all amenities to border people: Sham

JAMMU, Dec 3: Saying that Government is committed to provide basic amenities to people of the State particularly living in border and far-off areas, the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary said that various developmental projects are under implementation in this regards.
The Minister was speaking at Public Darbar held at R. S. Pura to listen to the people’s grievances. Hundreds of individuals and deputations from Dablehar, Gharani, Gharana, Bala Chack,  Langarali, Kothey Burea, Beaspur, Bidhipur and adjoining areas participated in the darbar and flagged of issues of their respective areas relating to supply of power and provision of electric poles and transformers, construction of lanes, drains  and blacktopping of roads.
The Minister said that the Government has taken several initiatives to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people of the State, adding that several welfare schemes have been launched for the welfare of people but the need of the hour is to take advantage of these schemes. He appealed the people to come forward and avail benefits of these schemes launched by the State and Centre Governments in the State.
Referring to the developmental scenario in the area particularly in Suchetgarh Constituency, the Minister said that various micro and macro developmental projects are under execution in the area and some of them are nearing completion, saying that their completion will bring change in day-to-day life of people living in this border belt. He said liberal funding is being provided by the Modi led  Government under various sectors, saying that it was the responsibility of every citizen to monitor the execution of developmental works in their respective area that funds are being utilized properly. He said the administration has already been directed to utilize the available funds in full and judiciously so that maximum benefits of these are percolated at grass-root level.
Referring to repair of tube well at Chak Bala, the Minister said that more tube wells or bore wells would be installed in the area so that farming community do not face any inconvenience on accpout of irrigated water during crop seasons.  He directed the concerned for taking up of construction of Gharana-Gharani road at the earliest, besides completion of all ongoing projects in the area.  In some cases, the Minister gave on-the-spot directions to the concerned for immediate redressal.
