POONCH, Feb 28: Mandi police arrested two persons including an employee of Rural Development Department (RDD) for black-marketing Government cement, meant for public works.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Mandi police station conducted raid in village Baila and seized 27 bags of Government cement from a vehicle bearing registration number JK12-6188.
One employee of RDD namely Istiyaq Hussain and driver of the vehicle Showkat Ahmed have been arrested for black-marketing the Government cement, which was meant for various developmental works through RDD.
A case under FIR Number 19/17 under Section 409 and 109 RPC has been registered against them at police station Mandi and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Mandi Inspector Abid Rafiqi made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey.
