Governor’s Address hypothetical, direction less : Dr Manohar

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Jan 3: Senior Congress leader and former Minister, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, has criticized the Governor’s  Address and termed it as directionless.
In a statement issued here, today, he said that generally the Governor’s Address depicts the performance of the Government during the past period and shows the future discourse, but it is very unfortunate that both elements in the current Governor’s Address are missing.
Dr. Sharma said that the State BJP-PDP Government has totally failed to address their core constituencies and the core issues of all three regions of the State in the Governor’s Address.
He said that no suggestive measures have been taken by the current Government to tackle the burning problem of unemployment in the address. There is no mention of  the projects initiated by the previous Government which have been left unattended in last three year’s of PDP-BJP coalition. He pointed out that the Government has said nothing clear cut in the Governor’s Address that what will be the fate of AIIMs in Jammu, Mubarak Mandi Hertiage Project, Artificial Lake and Ropeways for Bahu Fort to Mubarak Mandi and Kudh-Patnitop.
Dr. Sharma said that there is no focus on peace incentive taken in the State in the present Governor Address except the appointment of interlocutor, Dineshwar Sharma by GoI.
He said that it is very unfortunate that the State Government did not bother to include a single word in the Governor’s address about the supreme sacrifices of the soldiers of the Indian Army, CRPF, BSF and Jammu and Kashmir Police who attained martyrdom while fighting a proxy war in the State to maintain peace and tranquility in the country.
Dr. Sharma said that there is no mention about the delimitation of Assembly constituencies, Finance Commission and solution of the problems which erupted after implementation of GST due to which the industrial sector of the State has been greatly affected.
At the last, he drew a conclusion that the present BJP-PDP Government does not believe in peace and development of the State and only wants to enjoy power and comforts at the cost of the people of the State and doesn’t bother to touch a single human issue of the State, for which the people of the State have a lot of aspirations.
