JAMMU: Governor N N Vohra today reviewed the pilgrimage issues of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine during a meeting held at Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Kakryal in Reasi district.

The Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Shrine Board reviewed various pilgrimage related issues with A K Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board.

Pertinent to mention here that much before the Shrine Board’s Super Speciality Hospital was commissioned the Governor had held a series of meetings including with the then Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and others to settle a time frame for the repair and upgradation of the Domail?Katra and Domail-Kakryal roads; completion of the National Highway-Kakryal link and construction of the new road to connect Katra Railway Station with Kakryal.

In today’s Review Meeting Mr Sahu informed the Governor that the new Katra-Kakryal road, which will also provide valuable linkage to the interior villages, has been blacktopped and shall become fully functional by March 2017.

As regards the Domail-Katra and the Domail-Kakryal roads, both of them are in satisfactory condition and the new road from National Highway to Kakryal is now also being quite intensively used by patients visiting the Shrine Board Hospital from the Udhampur side. (AGENCIES)
