Governor releases “Goonj”

JAMMU, Feb 14: Governor N.N. Vohra released “Goonj”, a compilation of poems written by Ramesh Arora, Member Legislative Council, in a function held at Raj Bhavan here today.
Arora has dedicated this book to the memory of his son who passed away at a very young age in 2016. The poems in this volume reflect the author’s perspectives on various socio-political and contemporary issues and his life’s experiences as a social and political worker.
Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman Legislative Council and Sat Pal Sharma, MLA, spoke on the occasion to express their views on Arora’s book of verses.
Appreciating Arora’s endeavour in writing about his life’s experiences in meaningful verses, Governor observed that it would be beneficial if more and more persons working in the political arena wrote about their experiences in regard to important issues facing the country.
He urged the Legislators and other dignitaries present on the occasion to work vigorously towards the restoration of sustained peace and harmony in the State.
Among those present on the occasion were  Naresh Gupta, Ashok Khajuria, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Charanjeet Khalsa, Vikram Randhawa, all Legislators; Abdul Majid Bhat, Secretary Law; and Prof. R.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu.
