Governor releases 2 books

SRINAGAR, Oct 20: Governor N.N. Vohra released “Tobacco Control Laws and Measures”, a booklet compiled by A.M. Mir, IAS (Retd.), Executive Director of J&K Voluntary Health and Development Association.
Governor observed that this publication will make valuable contribution towards sensitizing the public at large about the extremely harmful effects of smoking and consumption of tobacco products, most of which result in life-threatening medical problems.
He emphasized the importance of mobilizing volunteers from various segments of society and organizations for raising awareness on a much larger scale about the adverse consequences of smoking and consumption of tobacco and its related products.
Governor also released “Tchope Sete Kath Bath”-conversation with silence – a book written by Dr. Satish Vimal who works for Radio Kashmir in Srinagar at the Raj Bhavan.
Governor lauded Dr. Vimal’s initiative of writing a literary diary in Kashmiri and hoped that this book would contribute towards popularization of literature in Kashmiri.
Syed Humayun Qaiser, Director of Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, was also present on this occasion.
