JAMMU, Dec 2: Governor N.N.Vohra has stressed the high importance of observing the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” to promote better understanding of disability issues and for mobilizing support to enhance the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
Governor has observed that a community is known by the manner in which it treats children, women, elders and the disabled and hoped that our society, which is historically founded in tolerance and compassionate values, would vigorously strive for establishing an inclusive and equitable environment which specially cares for all persons with disabilities.
He has urged that special efforts should be made to ensure that persons with disabilities are meaningfully involved in every sphere of activity.
