Gourav Khajuria slams ton in UCC Udhampur’s win

JAMMU, Feb 28: Promising batsman Gourav Khajuria scored a magnificent century 116 runs, studded with 17 boundaries as UCC Udhampur defeated Border Cricket Club Arnia by a big margin of 76 runs in the ongoing 1st State Level Cricket Tournament for Chief Minister’s Cup, being organized by J&K State Sports Council in collaboration with Country Cricket Academy at Gharota, near here.
Batting first, UCC scored a good total of 236 runs in the allotted 35 overs. Apart from Gourav, Himanshu contributed valuable 60 runs and Raman chipped in with 23 runs. For BCC Arnia, Aman took 2 wickets, while Shakib and Vinod claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Border Cricket Club bundled out for 160 runs in 28 overs, thus lost the match by 76 runs. Rakesh top scored with 50 runs, while Vikram contributed 42 runs. Amaninder and Amandeep chipped in with 18 and 15 runs respectively. For UCC, Brijesh and Ritvik bagged 3 wickets each, while Yudhvir took 2 wickets. Abish and Gourav Khajuria shared one wicket each. For his splendid century, Gourav Khajuria was declared as man of the match.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Sehwag Cricket Academy will take on Domana Cricket Club at 9 am.
