GOOL, Apr 2: Embarking on his election tour of Gool, Mahore, Darmari and Arnas today, BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh  took on the Congress and its ally National Conference (NC) for using these far-flung backward areas simply as vote bank pockets and never seriously addressed their long standing problems.
For years these areas have suffered on account of difficult accessibility which has deprived its people of education, employment and health facilities, said Dr Jitendra Singh and alleged, every time on the eve of election, Congress and NC make false promises to these innocent people and then leave them to their fate. This is nothing but a worst kind of exploitation, he observed.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, this area has been a victim of militancy and deserves special attention. BJP is against the use of militancy for political ends and has from time to time exposed the political parties who did this, he added.
VDCs and SPOs have done a commendable job during difficult times and we are committed to redress their grievances, said Dr Jitendra Singh.
Narendra Modi had, in his address during the Hiranagar rally, promised to carry forward the initiatives of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, reminded Dr Jitendra Singh and said, this will open new vistas for the people of Jammu & Kashmir including those living in the neglected or militancy affected areas.
Reiterating that BJP has equal respect for all religions, Dr Jitendra Singh said, we don’t subscribe to the appeasement policy practised by Congress party which has benefitted a handful of families and promoted dynasty rule.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, this election is going to be a vote for change and the end of an era of corruption and scams.
Senior BJP leader Kabla Singh, Mandal presidents of Gool and Arnas, and several other prominent BJP leaders from the area accompanied the election tour.
Meanwhile BJP State secretary, Sunil Sharma, senior leaders Shakti Parihar and Ravi Kumar Thakur held corner meetings in Kishtwar, Dachan, Doda, Khelani and other localities seeking vote for Dr Jitendra Singh for installation of Narendra Modi as next PM of the country.
